The Exploration collection by La Favorite distillery is a series of seven limited-edition agricole rums, each revealing a unique facet of Martinique's craft and terroir. Exploration No.1 (2017) sets the tone with a 12-month maturation in French oak casks, offering notes of vanilla and dried fruits. No.2 (2015) is a more complex aged rum, refined in 12 differently charred barrels, revealing aromas of honey, spice, and delicate wood. No.3 (2020) continues the journey with 18 months in 15 various casks, resulting in a buttery texture and roasted nut character. No.4 (2021) brings floral freshness through maturation in white wine barrels. No.5 (2021), aged 16 months in new American oak from the Navarre cooperage, stands out with bold notes of coconut, spice, and wood. Exploration No.6 (2022) leans into indulgence, aged in ex-Sauternes casks, evoking vanilla, chocolate, and dried fruit. Finally, No.7 (2022) concludes this sensory adventure with a rum matured in Pineau des Charentes casks, bursting with raisin, candied fruit, and bright freshness. Each release—limited to between 2,400 and 4,300 bottles—is hand-bottled without chill filtration, embodying La Favorite’s artisanal spirit and bold experimentation.
